Our original founding practice is easy to access and located on Olsen Avenue in Arundel. It proudly features one of the most comprehensive range of specialist physiotherapy services in Queensland, combined with the very latest in regain lifestyle equipment and our Repex bed, which is one of only four in Australia.

With ample parking and a bright open interior our lovely Arundel practice offers convenient opening hours six days a week, including after-hours Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings by appointment (subject to change).

Sue Bower
(Owner and Principal)

Sue is the Director of Physiomax with over 35 years of experience across all areas of Physiotherapy.
​
She is an Adelaide trained Physiotherapist with a vast range of manual therapy skills and considers herself to have an “old school” approach to patient management.
​
Her main areas of interest are spinal and posterior pelvis pain, Musculo-skeletal injuries and rehabilitation, cervical headache, Vertigo and TMJ pain.
Sue has experience with pilates exercise prescription and Physiomax has a well-appointed reformer pilates studio.
Sue’s personal interests include trail and road running, beach walking, yoga, relaxing on the beach or by the pool, travel and spending time with friends and family.

Kristy Dernedde

Kristy has completed a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science and Masters Studies in Physiotherapy at Griffith University and she is a member of the APA. Previous to this Kristy completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science. Kristy has worked previously in private practice, providing a broad range of physiotherapy services including services to junior rugby union teams and swim squads. Kristy utilises her Mckenzie and Dry Needling training. Kristy is passionate about helping people feel the best they can and has recently become a new Mum who works part-time at PHYSIOMAX.

Atim Davey
(Physiotherapist)
Qualifications:

Atim graduated in Melbourne in 2001 at La Trobe University. He has a variety of experience gained from treating all around Australia and overseas. He adopts a collective approach to physiotherapy treatment utilising a plethora of different techniques. He has over twenty years of extensive experience with high profile sporting clubs covering a number of codes (AFL, NBL, NPL and NRL), clinical and exercise Pilates, thorough assessment and treatment of compensable patients, general injuries and dysfunctions of all age groups.
​
Before working at Physiomax, Atim was the owner of a practice in Brisbane for over ten years where he looked after a number of high profile Australian and state level athletes. Previously he was in charge of the physiotherapy department at a large multidisciplinary private practice and the general manager of another physiotherapy company developing over ten private practices across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Prior to this he was the head physiotherapist of the Australian Defence Force (army, navy and air force) in the Northern Territory.
​
Atim has a keen interest in all sporting injuries, shoulder, knee, hip and ankle conditions, TMJ (jaw) dysfunction, Pilates, core strength retraining, occupational health, post operative rehabilitation and hydrotherapy.
​
Atim was introduced to physiotherapy at a young age suffering numerous injuries whilst participating in as many sports as possible. Unfortunately these injuries have prevented him from competing at a high level and after having ten reconstructive surgeries on different body areas he currently partakes in cycling and golf to maintain his fitness.
​
Atim is also a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Sports Physiotherapy Association & Certified in Biomechanical Bicycle Assessments.

Mark Antonello
(Physiotherapist)
Qualifications:

Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Mark has been in private practice for the past 18 years. He has worked with various sporting groups in the fields of gymnastics, soccer and acrobatics.
After a short career in optometry, he realised physio was his passion and relocated from Melbourne to the Gold Coast to complete his bachelor degree.
With a special interest in injury prevention, he has consulted with large organisations such as Woolworths, Lineage cold storage and Bupa to reduce work-related injury and promote longevity in the workforce.
He has extensive experience in general private practice with areas of interest in motor-vehicle accident rehab, vertigo, and ideopathic knee pain. He is proficient in dry needling, spinal manipulation and movement restoration.
